Ruike Brings out New Multitool and Safety Lock Folders

Ruike, the young knife division of Fenix Flashlights, just announced three more new models. The new batch includes a rescue knife multitool and two new flipper knives sporting a new secondary locking device.

The newest addition to Ruike’s LD multitool line, the LD43 brings a rescue-style toolset into the mix. “The original intention of the LD43 was to help users get rid of things like glass, ropes, and brambles,” explains Ruike’s Jongly Huang. It has a 3.35-inch liner lock main blade made from 12C27 and two more specialized blades: a wood saw and a seatbelt cutter.

Other unique tools in the LD43’s 15 complement include a large 3D screwdriver and a fold out, carabiner-style snap clip to keep it close at hand. The high visibility yellow G-10 scales makes it impossible to miss in an emergency or outdoor scenario. “It is a well-rounded, multi-purpose knife,” Huang tells us.

Ruike creates its first American tanto-style blade with the P138. “There are many articles debating the application and practicality of tanto design,” Huang says. “For the P138, we listened to our own judgment regardless of all the arguments.” The result is a striking, aggressive, and wide 3.5-inch tanto blade, complemented by an angular handle and clip. Steel choice for the P138 is 14C28N, and it will be available in two different colors of G-10.

Deployment on the P138 is achieved via flipper, and lockup with a liner lock. The P138 and fellow new release the P841 [see below] debut the new Safety Lock secondary lock feature. “The basic principle is similar to the Beta Plus lock,” Huang explains. “It can completely prevent the liner lock from bouncing back.” Whereas, the Beta Plus lock is situated on the lock side scale of Ruike frame lock folders, the Safety Lock works with liner locks and integrates into the spine of a knife.

Ruike P841
The 841 is another mid-sized 14C28N knife, with similar proportions to the 138 but a more EDC-friendly blade design. “The blade of the P841-L is more curved toward the back than average blades, making cutting easier,” Huang says. Ruike outfitted the knife with ambidextrous thumb studs and a flipper for deployment options.

Both the P138 and P841 are available and shipping now. MSRP for the P841 is $51.95, and $67.95 for the 138. The LD43 is scheduled to be available August 11th and will carry an MSRP of $76.95.
