Guangzhou, China-based company Aiorosu Knives is breaking into the high-end production scene with their first release, the Elite. In an increasingly crowded market, Aiorosu hopes their flagship knife’s unique looks, high quality, and swappable scales will impress new customers.
The Elite is a futuristic, angular titanium frame lock flipper. Its 3.5-inch wharncliffe blade rides on ball bearings and sports M390 blade steel. An ergonomic forward choil helps emphasize the detailed utility cutting at which this particular blade shape excels. Surface cuts into the blade and flipper tab created visual depth and lighten the weight of the 5.36 oz. Elite slightly. Its handle is a modified coffin shape, with a gentle curve that narrows at the butt end.
For most production knives, owners have to turn to the secondary market in search of customization options. Replacement scales and multiple anodizations are not something manufacturers tend to offer out of the gate. But Aiorosu provides both for the Elite from the factory. This mid-sized knife comes in five different colorations. Moreover, Aiorosu produced a blue carbon fiber replacement scale sold separately for those interested in a different material.
With a price tag of $220, the Elite is entering a very competitive space in the market. Manufacturers from all over the world are contributing designs at this price point. We Knife Co., Reate, and Rike have all earned followings with their high-end production folders. Zero Tolerance and Benchmade have been experimenting in that arena the last few years. Even Russia’s Custom Knife Factory has trained its eyes on the $200-300 range with the implementation of the MKAD brand.

Like others, Aiorosu will be counting on its OEM experience to jumpstart its own label. “We are a company specializing in the manufacture and export of knives,” explains the company’s Kayla Chen. The Elite is leading the charge but other knives are already in the pipeline. “We have profuse designs with serious quality. Our price is very competitive because we are the manufacturer, we are the source.”
Aiorosu spent the month of October producing the first batch of Elites. The knife has yet to arrive with dealers but when it does, MSRP is set at $220 for any coloration. The carbon fiber scale retails for $35.
