Knife Rights Kicks off Ultimate Steel 2023 Fundraiser

Knife Rights began its famous Ultimate Steel fundraiser drive last week. The annual event offers a slew of one-of-a-kind prizes in addition to the chance to support a foremost organization in knife law reform.

Knife Rights has been around for more than 15 years. It was started in 2006 by Doug Ritter, who you may also know for the Ritter Griptilian design and, more recently, the RSK knife series, the latter produced by Hogue Knives. Ritter was incited to form his grassroots organization by an anti-knife article in the Wall Street Journal that chose an image of the Buck Metro as its header image. Since then, Knife Rights has grown into a force to be reckoned with in pro-knife legislation, with dozens of victories under its belt and 27 different states affected by their actions over the years.

Donating to Knife Rights at any time helps them continue their various ongoing legal battles; but donating during the Ultimate Steel fundraiser also means you can win some impressive prizes for yourself. Here’s how it works: donations get you a certain amount of entries into drawings, depending on the amount; naturally larger donations get more entries. Now through June 5th, any donation gets you an additional entry in a special Early Bird drawing. In both the Early and Main drawings, each winner gets to pick whatever they want from the list of remaining prizes.

And those prizes are as impressive this year as they’ve ever been. Custom knives from makers like Brian Fellhoelter, Steve Gatlin, and Jerry Hossam sit alongside desirable production models from, among many others, Chris Reeve, Demko Knives, and Three Rivers Manufacturing. It’s hard to imagine a knife enthusiast not finding at least one thing that really gets their attention. Moreover, donating at certain denominations immediately nets you a special edition production knife from various companies (while supplies last), Spyderco and SOG included.

Ultimate Steel 2023 runs now through August 1st, but you only get entered into the Early Bird drawing if you make your donation by June 5th. Also worth noting is that more prizes are still being added to both Early Bird and the Main drawings.
