We Knife Co. has a new in-house model releasing alongside the Mike Gavac-designed Epaulette, which we covered earlier last week. The Zenthra is a markedly different piece, with a Wharncliffe blade and a very clean, very modern look.
The wharnie got hot again in the knife community within the last decade but, unlike some other trends, it seems to just keep going; makers and enthusiasts just can’t get enough of this timeless utility-first user shape. This certainly isn’t We’s first Wharncliffe wodeo – sorry, rodeo – and the experience shows in this confident, class rendition. The Zenthra’s blade measures 3.3 inches long, a great size for a wharnie, with plenty of space for the edge to breathe without becoming cumbersome.
Something else that We has worked with before, and that we see implemented on the Zenthra, is the dual thumbstud/flipper tab deployment combo. The choice is useful, to be sure, but on a knife in the Zenthra’s price range – which is to say, a premium piece, designed for collectors and enthusiasts – the importance of the Fidget Factor cannot be ignored. Another important element in that regard is the detailing and material choices – two things We has always excelled at. Multiple finishes and material options are on offer, but underlying them all is a chassis built from titanium, with a sculpted clip to match, and a weight of 3.53 oz.
The Zenthra, as well as the Epaulette, are expected to arrive by the end of February.
