The IWA OutdoorClassics Show has settled on new dates for 2020. The new show schedule is appearing just days after the original March dates were cancelled due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak.
IWA’s new dates are set for September 3 – 6, 2020. That’s a shift of six months for the show, which historically runs in the early spring. Interestingly, the change will have an impact on all future IWA shows too. The IWA showrunners have stated that the September dates will be the standard going forward. According to the official release, this is to help keep planning as consistent and easy as possible for exhibitors and visitors, who often schedule their trips far in advance.
“We expressly thank all customers, partners and media representatives for the understanding they have shown regarding our decision to postpone IWA OutdoorClassics 2020,” writes IWA representative Petra Wolf in the official release. “We are pleased about the high level of commitment in the industry – after intensive deliberations and numerous positive discussions with national and international customers, we have chosen the new date at the beginning of September also for the following years”.
In terms of logistics, the shift to a September show hasn’t affected the location of IWA. As usual it will be taking place in the Exhibition Centre in Nuremburg, Germany.
IWA is one of the biggest outdoors trade shows in Europe. Hundreds of exhibitors were on the docket for the original 2020 dates, including pretty much every major knife company in the U.S. There has been no information yet on how much the rescheduling will affect this year’s turnout.
