The October Buck of the Month pays homage to horror movie history: it’s the latest variant of the legendary, enduring, and Ghostface-approved Buck 120.
For those of you not in the know (and we would refer you to our goth sister-site HorrorNews), the Buck 120 not only enjoys a sterling reputation in the real world as a premier hunting/outdoors fixed blade, but also has won fame in Tinseltown as the preferred, um, EDC, of Ghostface, the murderous villain of the Scream franchise. In fact, if you take an amble into your local Spirit Halloween, you’re sure to find not only a Ghostface costume, but at least one shoddily-made simulacrum of the 120 itself – albeit rendered in plastic and with only approximate dimensions.

The real deal, which we’re looking at here, is an entirely different, outdoors chore-focused beast. The unforgettable straight clip blade is made, on this particular model, is made from CPM-CruWear, a steel with its own storied history of high performance in unforgiving roles. If CruWear has a weakness, it’s the fact that it is a semi-stainless steel, with lower corrosion resistance than officially-designated stainless recipes. However, that should be less of a concern on this 120 thanks to the presence of a full-body Armor Black Cerakote.
The handle’s grip area, made from black and gray SureTouch, compliments the somber hue of this 120’s blade. The pommel and guard are both made from aluminum, and both have burgundy Micarta spacer bands across their centers. The sheath for this 7.125″ blade is made from distressed black leather, which could be read one of two ways: either it gives the knife an heirloom quality, or is yet another Halloweenish touch for the special month. You can decide!
The October Buck of the Month 120 is available now and limited to a single 750-piece run.
