2023 Legacy Collection Includes Most Modern 110 Yet

In addition to unveiling new mainline folders and fixed blades at SHOT Show last week, Buck also rolled out their 2023 Legacy Collection. Each yearly Legacy Collection is a special series of knives, only produced for a specific calendar year – and 2023’s Legacy models are special indeed. The selection includes two very different, but very modern takes on the 110, and plenty of other goodies as well.

Titanium 110 Slim Pro TRX

Buck has been more than to do different plays on their most famous folder, the 110 Folding Hunter, and that has resulted in some pretty modernized takes on the blade. This 2023 Legacy Collection special gets our vote for the most modern ever, however. Starting from the already-updated Slim Pro TRX model, Buck went further here, implementing a current-gen super steel, S45VN, as well as full titanium scales and bronze PVD-coated hardware.

Richlite 110 Folding Hunter

Alongside the Slim Pro TRX, there’s a souped-up take on the classic, two-hand opening Folding Hunter model as well. It has heavily jigged scales made from multihued Richlite and, once again, S45VN blade steel.

532 Bucklock

Folder no. 3 in the 2023 Legacy Collection is a returned and improved version of the 532 Bucklock, a slender, classically handsome model that has been in retirement for quite some time. It’s back with Micarta scales, polished copper liners with some cool filework on them, and 154CM blade steel.

Damascus 590 Paradigm

The Paradigm folder family was brought back into the mainline in 2021, with a revised color scheme and materials. This Legacy Collection flavor seems to be more in the line of a gent’s folder or simply a collectible, as it comes with raindrop damascus blade steel and an ivory G-10 handle.

192 Vanguard with S35VN

A longstanding hunting knife design, the 192, represents the entirety of the ’23 Legacy fixed blade presence. The main draw here is the blade steel, S35VN (as opposed to the 420HC on the standard version), but the Micarta scales also help distinguish this variant.
