The KnifeNews Dealers’ Choice Awards recognize extraordinary achievement in the production knife world. KnifeNews turned to knife dealers to determine the winners. With hundreds of new production knives passing through their hands and many hours spent interacting with end-users, dealers have the most comprehensive and informed perspective. 21 of North America’s top dealers cast their votes in 10 different categories to choose the best of the best in 2016.
Best New Tactical Fixed Blade 2016
Usually knives are tools, but sometimes they’re also weapons. Military personnel and law enforcement officers rely on tactical fixed blades, and 2016’s field of options won’t let them down.

Benchmade Arvensis
From the mind of Shane Sibert, designer of the legendary Adamas series, comes the king-size Arvensis. A 6.4” drop point blade and a balanced in-hand feel make the Arvensis both a useful tool and a deadly weapon.
CRKT Clever Girl
CRKT’s Clever Girl is part of its new Forged by War program. Austin McGlaun, former soldier and police officer and designer of this knife, says that it was explicitly designed to be a tool for warriors. With a Persian-style blade and sculpted G-10 handle scales, the Clever Girl is a great blade for bad days.
ESEE Tertiary
The Tertiary turns the popular Izula knife design on its head to make a dedicated backup tactical knife. ESEE wanted to make a knife that police officers could retrieve and use with just one hand, whether they’re protecting their sidearm or defending their life.
Microtech/Borka Blades SBK
What started life as a sought-after custom knife became a true tactical option for thousands of Microtech and Borka Blades fans when Anthony Marfione and Sebastijan Berenji brought this high-end tactical blade into production.
