As we expected, there was a ton of new stuff from Civivi at Blade Show last weekend. We talked about some of them on Friday, but those were just a few of the impending releases. Three more models, expected to release at the end of the year, were also seen in Atlanta. This latter batch includes a new Ostap Hel design, a multifunctional folder, and the most inexpensive SNECX Tan design ever.
Vision FG
We’ve seen more and more We Knife Co. models make the transition into the Civivi corral – sometimes years after their original release. SNECX Tan‘s Vision R folder is the latest to follow this trend. Released under the We label in 2022, the Vision R was the first production iteration of the Superlock, one of several technical innovations SNECX Tan has created since he exploded onto the knife scene with the hardware-free IFS-20. The Vision FG carries the Superlock forward into the Civivi lineup, but alters the materials to make it, by far, the most affordable SNECX design on the market.
Krall
Ostap Hel‘s newest contribution to the Civivi catalog is the Krall, a very compact, neck knife fixed blade. The overall length on this little wharnie is a mere 2.33 inches, and it is made from a single piece of 14C28N steel. You can get it either satin finished or with a black coating; either way a Kydex sheath is also included.
Cedar
Here’s a new folder from Ben Petersen, creator of the very popular Banter family of knives. The Cedar is a similarly clean design with a 2.83-inch spey blade, made from Nitro-V. A liner lock is not all that’s concealed underneath the scales; a set of tweezers and a toothpick are tucked into the back as well, in a manner similar to what you’d see on a Swiss Army knife.
