Limited Edition Titanium Bailout Releases Today

Benchmade just dropped a limited edition version of the Bailout, the bigger tactical brother to the Bugout. The new 537BK-2302 upgrades the handle scales a collectible, yet still durable, variation of the hard use folder.

The Bugout, Benchmade’s trailblazing ultralight EDC knife, may be the company’s most notable success in a generally very successful ten years. In terms of visibility, reviews, and general interest across the knife community as a whole, the Bugout took pole position virtually as soon as it released. So it wasn’t a surprise when, in 2019, Benchmade released the Bailout, which took the Bugout profile and modified it to maximize durability. That meant aluminum scales instead of FRN, a larger blade in an American tanto shape, and M4 blade steel for tons of toughness and edge retention.

Now we have this limited release, whose headline feature is the presence of full titanium scales. Aluminum is no slouch in the durability department, but titanium is a step up – not to mention the premium flavor it imparts to any knife, even in an age where titanium is more common than it was, say, a decade ago. Furthermore, these titanium scales have a different look than the aluminum ones on the standard Bailout: they are planed smooth, with a subtle chamfer under the guard where the index finger is located during use.

Other details are different as well. The Cerakote on this Bailout’s blade is a cobalt black color, although the steel it covers remains the same, M4. And all the hardware has been anodized Crater Blue, a rich, dark shade of blue that Benchmade introduced on some models in its catalog at the beginning of the year.

The 537BK-2302 is limited to 1000 pieces and is available now.
