Blade Show West is kicking off in just under 48 hours. Located in Utah this year, Blade Show West brings together custom and production makers, just like its bigger brother Blade Show.
Blade Show West shares a name with one of the longest-running cutlery events, but its history is much shorter. The first Blade Show West took place just four years ago, in 2018 – and of course in 2020 there wasn’t a show at all, so this is really only the fourth time the show has ran.
So naturally West is smaller than its more established Eastern sibling. It still draws a sizeable contingent of makers, however; production company attendees this year include Spyderco, Tactile Knife Co., WE Knife and Civivi (who are show sponsors), and Liong Mah Designs. Then there are the custom makers, of course, with luminaries like Jared Oeser and frequent partner in crime Enrique Pena on the docket alongside up-and-comers like Michael Jarvis of Auxiliary Manufacturing. All in all, it’s a pretty robust lineup.
Worth noting as well is the fact that, once again, Blade Show West is being held in a different state. It debuted Oregon, before moving to California for two years – this year, however, it has relocated out to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Blade Show West runs October 7th – 8th, from 10:00am – 6:00pm each day, at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Tickets are still available if you’re in the area or plan to be this weekend.
