If you’ve been holding off on getting a Tactile Knife Co. Bexar, your patience is rewarded: the company will be offering their high-end slipjoint as part of the new Slice & Write Combo, which also includes a Tactile Turn pen and a custom leather slip from Greg Stevens Design.
For most readers of this site, we’re guessing a knife is the most common EDC item. But if you branch off from cutlery into the wider world of everyday carry, a pen is often the next port of call. So it makes sense that we often see pocket sheaths that incorporate holsters for both a pen and knife. And it makes even more sense that Tactile Knife Co., who makes knives and pens, would offer a pocket sheath for a Tactile Knife Co. knife, and a Tactile Turn pen.
Let’s break down what you get with the Slice & Write Combo. First of all you get a Bexar, Tactile’s first slipjoint and a critical darling from the day it dropped; among other accolades, it snagged a KnifeNews Readers’ Choice Award for Best Non-Locking Knife. Alongside the Bexar is a Tactile Turn Mini Ti Bolt, an EDC pen with a proven track record. This particular version, however, comes with a unique stonewash finish to match the Bexar. The Slice & Write Bexars, by the way, come with MagnaCut blade steel.
And then there is the slip itself, made by Greg Stevens Designs. Stevens is a go-to source for custom leather watch bands and other leather goods, and this slip is made from his Full Grain, Ultimate Brown leather, a style he introduced at the end of 2019. The Tactile Knife Co. four-dot insignia is stamped into the front of the slip as well.
For now, the Slice & Write Combo is only sold as a package deal, with the slip, Bexar, and Mini Ti Bolt together for $350. It is expected to go live on Tactile’s site tomorrow, Tuesday March 29th, at 12pm Central Time. Tactile has said that they hope to have some slips to sell by themselves eventually, too.
