Civivi Preps Folder, Fixed Blade, and Multifunction Knife for Release

Civivi never slows down, do they? Of course, this is the time of year when all knife companies are firing on all cylinders, so naturally Civivi has plenty to show off before and during SHOT Show this week. Incoming Civivi models include a folder/fixed blade pair and a modern traditional with some additional utility built in.

Stormhowl

Imposing name or no, the Stormhowl (designed by the Civivi crew, as is the Stormridge below) actually reminds us of the Qubit, one of the cuter folders in the company’s voluminous lineup. Like the Qubit, the Stormhowl is an aluminum-handled, button lock folder with Nitro-V blade steel. Visually, of course, it has a much more aggro look, with a longer (3.3 inches) clip blade and undulating, roomy handle. You can get this one in multiple colors including “Qubit pink” and a bright red handled model that swaps out the Nitro-V for a damascus blade.

Stormridge

Whether or not the Stormhowl and Stormridge are actually intended to be a pair, there’s a shared aesthetic between the two, not to mention the similar names. The Stormridge is a fixed blade, then, with a 3.92-inch drop point blade made, again, from Nitro-V (no damascus flavor here). That’s different than the ‘Howl’s clip blade, but the ‘Ridge’s handle profile echoes the folder’s, with a gentle rise in the center, and front and back guards beetling over the dips on either side of that.

Sendy

Meanwhile, the Sendy is a very different affair, which makes sense particularly given that it comes from a different source: Ben Petersen, creator of the popular Banter collab models. The core of the Sendy is its 2.38-inch flipper blade, available in drop or the rarely seen spey blade shapes. The barlow-ish handle houses two removable tools, one on either side: a toothpick and a pair of tweezers; both of these are made from steel, while the Sendy’s scales can be had in G-10, Micarta, or even guibourtia wood.

All three knives are hitting shelves as we speak.
