Civivi Schedules Two Larger Folders for Fall

We’ve got some more Civivi news, as two more knives are set to arrive shortly from the ever prolific label. The Banneret and Sinisys help flesh out Civivi’s options in the mid- to large EDC knife category.

Banneret

First up is the Banneret, a bolster’d flipper knife. A 3.7-inch symmetrical spear point is the profile on offer here. With its ample length and full flat grind the Banneret looks like it will make quite the versatile slicer; the Nitro-V blade steel compliments this role nicely with an evenhanded, above average blend of edge retention and stain resistance.

But the Banneret can probably handle harder work too, not only because of its long blade, but also the stainless steel frame lock that keeps that blade secure. The bolster too is made from stainless steel, and the 2/3rds scale beneath can be had in either G-10, green canvas Micarta, or carbon fiber twill. The latter, as is often the case with Civivi, comes paired with a damascus blade, making it the show piece of the trio.

Sinisys

Let us take a moment to acknowledge the marketing people at We Knife/Civivi HQ, or whoever is in charge of knife nomenclature; it cannot be easy to come up with so many different names so quickly, let alone keep track of what you’ve already used, etc.

Anyway, the Sinisys, like the Banneret above, hits a pretty sizable blade length of 3.7 inches. The blade shape is quite different, however, a harpoon clip made from 14C28N. No bolster here either, but a more sculpted handle with a finger groove up front and an arching profile. On all three models of the Sinisys, the back scale is made entirely from steel, and is a frame lock. The front scale comes in brown Micarta, black G-10, or carbon fiber twill – and again, the CF model is paired to a damascus blade in exchange for a higher price tag.

Civivi says it is aiming for an October release for the Banneret and Sinisys.
