Robert Saniscalchi Joins Vosteed for Company’s Flagship Collab

Vosteed turned a big milestone recently with the release of the RSKAOS, its first collaboration release. This is a design from Robert Saniscalchi, and it marks some other firsts for Vosteed as well, including the debut of a new lock mechanism.

Saniscalchi’s custom work puts his wild blade designs center stage, and he has done the same with the RSKAOS collaboration. The 3.3-inch blade comes in two different flavors: sheepsfoot or wharncliffe. Either version measures the same length, has a forward finger choil beneath the edge, and comes with an opening hole and technical swedge up top, in addition to a flipper tab on the spine. Mild differences aside, both the wharnie and sheepsfoot are EDC favorites, well-suited to the kind of pop-up jobs that surprise us during the course of any average day.

The RSKAOS is also made from M390, a super steel that returns to the Vosteed fold after making two previous appearances in special limited runs of the Nightshade and Bellamy. M390 hardly needs another introduction at this point; but the long and short of it is, this super steel has earned its stripes as a go-to choice amongst the mid- to high-end production scene, with lots of edge retention and stain resistance, and enough toughness to withstand the trials and tribulations of daily carry.

An all-titanium frame is another first in the Vosteed lineup, and in keeping with its generally premium feel. Underneath the scales is something just as interesting: the patent pending Top Liner Lock, which Vosteed describes as “similar to a hybrid of [a] insert-liner lock and Compression lock.” Like the Compression Lock, the Top Liner Lock engages and disengages with a button or tab on the show side scale of the knife. The sculpted titanium pocket clip is non-reversible, and the RSKAOS weighs 5.5 oz.

The first batch of RSKAOS sold out, but more are on the way.
