Isham Teams Up with Civivi for First Budget-Oriented Knife

WE Knife Co. budget line Civivi debuted a new Elijah Isham design at IWA, the Anthropos. The new flipper marks the first time Isham has brought a budget-oriented knife to market, and his first collab with Civivi.

Isham is capable of turning out some wickedly unique designs, including the mind-boggling Eschaton, also made in collaboration with WE. But he has also shown a penchant for work-ready knives that don’t sacrifice style for function. The Anthropos falls into that category, with a pretty and practical modified leaf-shaped blade. In terms of steel, Isham has noted on social media that Civivi will most likely opt for D2, which has used on other entries in its mid-priced lineup.

Two very Isham-like flourishes can be found in terms of opening method. A thumb hole, in the shape of an upside-down triangle, provides the first method; but Isham also included a skinny, stubby inline flipper very similar to that he has implemented on other designs like the Söze.

Here, Isham drew up a handle comprised of a series of utilitarian curves. The handle scales are flat and accented by a curvilinear pattern cut into the handle. A liner lock knife, the Anthropos appears to have scales made of G-10 with carbon fiber laid on top. Isham has also said that, like many Civivi designs, the Anthropos will come out in multiple colorations. The reversible pocket clip is a standard deep carry design.

The Anthropos marks two big firsts for Isham. First and most obviously, this is the first time he has crossed into the Civivi line. Second: while Isham has produced multiple collaborations with WE, others with Kizer, and is working on knives under his own private label, none of these blades have hit a budget-friendly price point. The official price tag on the Anthropos has not been revealed but it is expected to land well below $100. On social media Isham has indicated the knife could be available as early as next month.
