The new SOG Quake XL is a massive assisted-opening folder that uses an integrated folding bladeguard as the ‘thumb stud’ to open the knife. The guard folds flat against the handle when closed, providing a place for the user to nudge the blade open enough for the spring-assist to take over. The Quake also comes in a smaller, non-XL version.
