Adorable Awanata Keychain Knife Joins the RoseCraft Lineup

RoseCraft Blades recently teased a suite of six new traditional knives they’ll be releasing soon, but the company is also preparing a keychain modern slippie called the Awanata. Slated for an iminent release, the Awanata shows that RoseCraft’s interest in blade shapes continues outside of the traditional stuff.

RoseCraft is a pretty new company, founded in 2022 by some knife world veterans, including Savannah “Swaggs” Swaggerty and Andy Armstrong. They came out swinging with a 12 product lineup containing modern and traditional knives in a bevy of unusual blade shapes. The Awanata will not be the first, second, or even third wharncliffe in the RoseCraft world, but it will be the smallest, measuring 2 inches even in length.

Opened with a long pull fuller-style nail mark, the Awanata blade is made from D2, the most common steel choice over at RoseCraft. This is a non-locking design on top of being a tiny one, so it’s not really meant for prolonged work; we think of this as a keychain knife, something to serve as an “always on you” option for little chores that catch you by surprise. That being said, the geometry and steel are up to the elevated standards of modern everyday carry, so the Awanata can hold its edge through quite a bit of low-impact backup knife work.

Look at that rectangular 3-inch handle: no grooves, no jimping, just a clean profile and a big attachment point for a keychain on the butt end. In keeping with its adorable, accessory-like nature, the Awanata is being offered in six different colors of G-10, including orange and purple on top of the industry standard black. Just in case you were wondering, the Awanata is strictly a keychain knife – no clip on this little guy, but you could carry it loose in your pocket if you want.

RoseCraft says the Awanata will be available very soon. We expect that means sooner than the aforementioned new traditionals, which are releasing in a staggered schedule throughout the early spring.
