Limited Edition We Knife Co. Nefaris Comes in Six Different Flavors

It is clearly Limited Edition season over at We Knife Co. Recently we wrote about the Nexusia, a stylized, mid-sized flipper. Hot on the heels of that knife we’re now seeing the Nefaris, another flipper of medium dimension, rolling out in a suite of limited configurations.

You would never mistake the Nefaris for the Nexusia, or vice versa, but the knives do have similar specs. Just like its stablemate the Nefaris’s blade measures 3.48 inches long – but it’s a very different style of blade. Here, the prolific manufacturer has come up with low-slung clip point, with a stylized swedge running out to an elongated tip. Clip points vie with drop points for most commonly-seen blade shape; no matter which takes the cup, both deliver the same well-rounded sort of cutting profile: here on the Nefaris you get that aforementioned piercing power, but also a nicely curved belly for all-purpose slicing.

The three inlay versions

The Nexusia came equipped with just a flipper, but, in addition to a flipper tab, the Nefaris has an opening cutout on the blade flat. Its blade steel is the same as the Nexusia (and many, many other We Knife Co. models), CPM-20CV. We’re probably preaching to the choir here but 20CV was, and is, a fine super steel indeed, highly stain resistant with a long-lived edge. There is also, of course, a Damasteel variant here, wrought in the Heimskringla pattern.

We’ve got an extremely clean handle design here, more notable for what isn’t there than what is: no grooves, no experimental geometries, no excessive jimping. But this pared back handle serves as a blank canvas for the different cosmetic riffs on each Nefaris variant. There are six different Nefaris flavors on the way, including a hand rubbed titanium version, as well as one with a copper foil carbon fiber inlay; the aforementioned Damasteel model, like other limited edition We Knife models before it, has an inlay of Fat Carbon Nebula carbon fiber.

The Nefaris will be available soon. All versions are serially-numbered limited production runs, numbering 155 pieces each.
