Locking Jack Wolf Knife No. 2 Arrives This Month

Almost six months to the day after the first locking release from Jack Wolf Knives, the traditional-focused outfit is prepping to release another. The After Hours Jack goes in a different visual direction than the Gunslinger, but it’s still imbued with the “modern traditional” look of all Jack Wolf knives.

The first Jack Wolf locking knife, the aforementioned Gunslinger, had a frontier-y vibe with its clip point blade; here on the After Hours Jack we have instead a 3.15-inch wharncliffe shape. In keeping with the Jack Wolf directive of preserving classic knife forms, this is a wharncliffe in the true sense, unmodified by any sweeps, bellies, or other curves; the edge runs out straight and true, terminating in a low but very usable tip.

Jack Wolf appears to have fully committed to S90V steel, after introducing it on the Low Drag Jack in January; it’s an elevated super steel and, in an EDC role, it will hold an edge for a good long while. The front flipper tab sends the blade out with a roll of the thumb or flick of the finger, but the Jack Wolf traditional heritage comes through once again in the long French pull-style nail mark, which imparts a fuller-like look but can also be used for two-hand opening.

You always get some goodies with a Jack Wolf knife

Jack Wolf calls the After Hours Jack a “coffin barlow,” which means you have the coffin-shaped handle capped with an elongated bolster, the hallmark of a barlow knife. On the off-side scale you can see, beneath the scale, the bolster-style frame lock mechanism, made from titanium but sporting a steel interface. There’s a reversible sculpted ti pocket clip and a suite of handle options, including a toxic green Kirinite option, which is our personal favorite.

The Jack Wolf After Hours Jack goes live at 11am PST/2pm EST on Friday, December 15th. Be aware: the After Hours Jack will not be available directly from Jack Wolf. You’ll have to go through one of the authorized dealers; you can find a full list here.
